This is my last post for 2017. Its been a wonderful year. I learnt so much about Indian crafts , discovered some super creative Indian brands who are doing some wonderful work with #handmade and sustainable fashion . Also travelled a little bit and visited the historic beautiful regal city of Bikaner.
We stayed in the recently renovated Narendra Bhawan Bikaner – where the last maharaja of Bikaner Shri Narendra Singh Ji stayed. Much has been talked about the beautiful property and its out of the world hospitality , the food they offer , the unique experiences the hotel curates. But what remains special to us is the decor and the unconventionally curated memoirs of Shri Narendra Singh ji’s travels to places near and far.
The hotel is designed by Ayush Kesliwal and has a vintage modern charm in every nook and corner. I am going to share my top 5 decor tips to inspire you from the property.
- Paint your furniture Red ! yes brown is boring so is black . And this red to me was not kitsch or quirky – It is downright classy.
2. Because Books are your best friends and specially the classics.
3. Make vintage your best friend
4. Own one master piece ( or maybe more ) for conversation starters
And last – No decor is complete without textiles and ceramics
