In other news , Peacocks in the Rain completed its first baby year while I was doing the #makeinindia campaign . I was so busy launching the designers , sharing beautiful homes and admiring some fashionistas that it kind of skipped my mind to stop and ponder.
I also realized that I have never written too much about what I think or feel on the blog . Well that was not the intention anyway . I am extremely private , very camera shy ( which definitely doesn’t help when people think you are just another fashion blogger ) and would probably not pour my heart out to a complete set of strangers .
But what I have also realized now is that the people who are reading this are not strangers any more. I shared a few stories with them over last year over this blog or on the Instagram or Facebook pages and they ended up becoming wonderful friends. Some I have met in real life , some I have spoken to on phone , some would have replied in comments on my blog posts or social feed . They are all now in a way part of our small and growing Peacocks in the Rain Family. And we all definitely share one common thing – our love for India – our love for everything handmade in India.
I have featured several designers and stores in past year specially in last few months. All of them were extremely kind and sporty on being featured on the blog . I did have a few interactions with an interesting bunch of people but well it was all a part of our learning .
My favorite parts of the blog were definitely – #walkintomywardrobe and #walkintomyhome. It was exhilarating to see and share their excitement when they got featured. I am most thankful to them because they inspired other people to dress up like them or decorate their homes like they do.
We also delved a bit in Indian books , to be honest there never was enough time for me to write the book reviews of all the books I read this past one year . If you are a voracious reader yourself and would like to share some book reviews please let me know and I would love to collaborate.
This blog also made me pick up and read this book called #girlboss based on the life of Nasty Gal’s founder Sophia Amoruso . I am half way through the book , but there are parts of it which I am going to take as my learning lessons for next one year of Peaocks in the Rain .
“Life is unwritten , like a great big experiment . Why not see see how long the red string of my imaginary kite can get ? and why not let it whisk me up into the sky with it when my dreams start to become reality ? For that , I think it’s worth putting up with making some compromises , and even playing by (some of ) the rules. “
because if you don’t believe in magic you will never find it.
