“Reviving vintage furniture using Decoupage is a deep passion and everything can be personalized. At Design5 Studio, I create ‘eco-whimsical’ and fun, decoupage wooden home decor & fashion accessories out of eco-friendly wood. My designed products reflect my belief that a good design touches you. Tickles you. And at all times, hopefully, even leaves you amazed. All my products are visualised, designed and hand crafted by me. These products make for great signature accessories for yourself and your home. ” – So true Molly

As a Fine Art & Design graduate Molly has  created projects across various communication disciplines of design. Graphic, space, 3D, identity, logos et al.Design5 Studio started out of her love for creating ‘functional’ design. She believes that design is functional. ” Design is human and  not virtual. Because it is meant for people. For a purpose. If it does not communicate, holds no interaction, then it is not design. “

“I have always believed that design is the medium that connects the body with the soul. It touches all your senses. Yes all 5 of them 😊 And that’s how it reaches your inner being. Design5 studio was born with this endeavour. To create design that touches people. The interface of design rarely mattered. So what was graphic in its early days, became substance later on. Over the past years, I have tried to create work that not just meets a brief. But takes a larger responsibility. Decoupage was another expression of the same dream. It was a way to make the ordinary, extraordinary. An old European art, long forgotten became my magic wand to infuse life into not just lifeless objects but also give new meaning to my dream. It gave wings to my passion of design and more importantly expression to my creation.” – Molly

“I have come to believe that the best things in life are the things you don’t plan. My life is all about possibilities, not plans. I just go with the flow. As I get older, different things become important to me. But the only thing that has not changed is my love for design. Who knows, may be I will start designing furniture for kids tomorrow? Or become an art teacher in a small school somewhere in the hills!?
As long as I get to create, craft and design…I am happy.” nvrng_traysml_jaminikrishna01

Molly’s  recommendations to make an aesthetically beautiful home –
“Keep It Simple. Less is more for me, always. Plants play a big role in my home decor style. I would suggest using Indian textiles, suited to our weather conditions as curtains, upholstery etc.”

I keep thinking what really keeps inspiring me. Pulling me together. Pushing me to find new horizons, challenges and expression. What happens now is possibly answered in what triggered all this firstly. My daughter.
This creation became my catalyst to find renewed energy in my creative career . To propel not just my life, but my design journey.
Design5 Studio is my vision. And the nadir.
It’s my fuel. And the fire.
It’s my goal. And the wings.

Molly , may this fire continue to glow brighter and the wings take you farther than you already have . You have helped make many beautiful Indian homes and may you journey continue to be successful.
