“I have been living in this house for more than a decade now & my passion for decor followed naturally as I had a fascination for vintage stuff & keen eye for details .Even as a child I used to be fascinated with houses & things . I have utensils used by my grand mom & my collection has many hand me downs from my grand mom , mom & mother in law . ”

“Temple Bells , my home studio was once a dream, but through the years I spun a colourful web of ideas, which transformed a house into an ethnic Indian home- vibrant and warm!. I am proud to show case Indian heritage around my home. A self-taught artist , I dabble  in all art forms though my mainstream is Tanjore Art. The walls are dotted with my paintings & all my brass and antique collections have been carefully picked with keen eye for details. Some of them are gifts from loved ones and some are heirlooms and ‘hand me downs’.

“I was also interested in painting & craft but had no access as a child . With my husband ‘s encouragement I started with oil & water colour paintings , all self taught & of course tips from other artists too . I was fortunate to work fr a lady as an assistant artist & used to make greeting cards & craft fr people with physical disabilities .She is the one who taught me tanjore art( .I now teach this art to many who are genuinely interested). )Then there was no looking back , I got throughly engrossed in this painting .And created many paintings & it definitely took my decor passion further .I keep moving things & paintings periodically around my home as I keep getting different decor ideas, so my home keeps evolving. “

Advice on unique indian decor home ……?  Look for stuff which have lovely details & which are handmade by rural India , combine this with rich Indian textiles . The Indian sculptures are amazing ,too, look into the history & find what appeals to yr aesthetic sense .”
The list can go on –BUT follow your heart & ,what makes you feel the passion  —-that’s what makes yr home unique . Your personality & your home go hand in hand ! !
